New podcast episode 🎙️

For Calgarians with pets, finding rentals can be extra challenging. More than half of Calgarians own a pet but only 10% of low-cost market rentals allow animals - forcing some residents to make impossible choices between housing and keeping their pet.

In this episode of Calgary Conversations, we talk with Reid Hendry, our Chief Housing Officer and Carrie Fritz from Calgary Humane Society about our recent partnership to expand pet-friendly rentals in the city.

Episode highlights:
🐾 Learn more about what’s behind the gap
🐾 Learn the impact on animals in our community
🐾 Understand how pet-friendly rentals can benefit landlords and tenants
🐾 Access resources to get started in becoming a pet-friendly landlord

2027-2030 Business Plans and Budgets 06/18/2026

Earlier this spring, we asked Calgarians to share what matters most for the next four‑year budget.

The What We Heard report is now available. It shares what participants told us - like the importance of core services, affordability and long‑term planning.

This feedback will be used by Administration and Council as they make budget decisions later this year, along with other information.

You’ll have another chance to share your feedback with Council through Public Submissions in November.
