Both smiling.
And somehow, that says everything.
Friendship doesn’t ask what makes us different.
It just shows up.
In shared laughs. In support. In moments where nobody has to explain themselves to feel accepted.
At URSA Airdrie, belonging looks different for everyone—and that’s exactly the point.
We support adults with developmental disabilities across Airdrie and Calgary through inclusive, engaging programming built around strengths, interests, and connection.
No boxes. No one-size-fits-all.
Just people being people.
And sometimes, that changes everything.

⛳ Big swings. Bigger impact.
A huge thank you to our ACE Sponsor, CB Medical Inc., for supporting URSA’s Balls for Brains Golf Tournament.
💙 This is CB Medical’s third year with us, and their belief in what we’re building and the individuals at the centre of it helps support programs and opportunities that matter so much to our community.
We’re really grateful to have them in our corner.
👏 Thank you, CB Medical!

After a brain injury, life doesn’t always look the same.
What was once familiar, daily routines, planning, navigating the community, can suddenly feel overwhelming.
For many individuals, the journey forward involves building new ways of doing things, finding confidence again, and reconnecting with the world in a new way.
This is why Brain Injury Awareness Month matters.
June gives us the opportunity to better understand these experiences, challenge assumptions, and recognize the importance of ongoing, community-based support.
Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing information, perspectives, and real stories to help bring awareness to what living with a brain injury can truly look like.
We’re glad you’re here learning with us.

No big announcement. No audience.
Just music.
A familiar tune turned into smiles. Smiles turned into laughter. And for a few minutes, the room felt lighter.
That’s the thing about moments like this.
They may seem small from the outside—but inside URSA Airdrie, they become connection.
A chance to express joy. To try something new. To feel comfortable enough to simply be yourself.
Because meaningful support isn’t always about schedules and structure.
Sometimes, it sounds like music.
For families in Airdrie and Calgary exploring programs for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), URSA is a place where growth feels human, friendships feel real, and every day holds something meaningful.

Last week, communities across Alberta recognized Disability Support Professionals Appreciation Week, and the incredible people behind this work.
Disability support professionals are advocates, mentors, and trusted supports, walking alongside individuals and families, creating connection, and helping people live full and meaningful lives.
Across agencies like URSA, Foothills Advocacy In Motion Society - FAIM, Vecova, and so many others, this work is rooted in care, collaboration, and a shared commitment to inclusive communities.
With recognition across the province last week, including proclamations from the City of Calgary – Your Local Government, The City of Airdrie and Rocky View County, it’s clear that this work matters far beyond individual organizations.
To everyone in this field: thank you for the care, dedication, and humanity you bring every day. We’re proud to be alongside you.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t inside a building at all 🌿💙

They happen outside. In fresh air. On walking paths. Side by side.
- A shared hike. A conversation between steps.
- A moment of laughter after reaching a view.
- A team celebrating progress together—no matter how big or small.
At URSA Airdrie, these are the moments that matter just as much as anything we do inside our program space.
For the individuals and families we support across Airdrie, Calgary, and surrounding communities, inclusion isn’t confined to a room—it’s lived in the community. It’s about experiencing life together, building confidence outdoors, and creating real connection through shared experiences.
Whether someone is supported through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), Family Managed Services, post-high-school transitions, or simply looking for meaningful community participation, our team is there—walking alongside them every step of the way.
