The weather is slowly getting nicer! The youth did a nature scavenger hunt to spend some time outdoors and away from the screens ☀️🌳🐦🌸

This week we did some Identity Jenga to explore this week’s asset: Sense of Purpose! It’s so important for our youth to ask themselves what is important in their lives, and to recognize and think about what keeps them moving forward 💙✨

The youth got creative and created the Cornerstone Olympics! Badminton, Ping Pong, and Volleyball, we have been doing tournaments outside and having so much Friday fun! 🏸🏐🏓 Happy weekend everyone!! ☀️💙✨

Oh no! Something terrible has happened to our beloved bear, Fred 😰💔 Homework for the day is cancelled and we had our most intelligent and qualified detectives work on the case for today’s program. We had them figure out three key questions: whydunnit, howdunnit, and WHODUNNIT?! 🕵🏼‍♂️🕵🏻‍♀️🕵🏾

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that the basketball court at Cornerstone Youth Centre has been removed.

It goes without saying that this is a heavy loss for our community and for the youth living in it. The court meant so much to many. It was more than just a basketball court, it was a place where our youth gathered, friendships were built, laughter was shared, and meaningful connections were formed. For years, it has been a space filled with energy, joy, and community spirit.

On behalf of Cornerstone Youth Centre we would also like to offer a huge thank you to the over 200 community members who signed our petition to keep the court. It warmed our hearts to see the number of neighbours who took the time out of their days to make their voices heard and support our cause.

We know that this news is difficult, and we understand that many of you will have questions. We did an egg drop test for science !! The youth got so creative in how to protect their eggs. Using paper towels, fabric, sandwich containers, and so much more, it was lots fun! It was even more exciting to see which eggs survived and which cracked 😆🥚
