🚨 CALSARA Member Training Update 🚨

Several CALSARA members have successfully completed Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) operator training, certified through the Canada Safety Council (CSC)!

UTVs are an essential tool to support operations — allowing our teams to cover difficult terrain faster and get to those who need us sooner. This certification, delivered by Xtreme Safety Training, means more of our members have the skills and confidence to deploy UTVs effectively the moment we're called.

A big shoutout to every member who put in the time and effort to complete this training.

Sharpening our skills to bring people home 🔍
This winter, CALSARA members and the Calgary Police Service have been training together on tracking and sign cutting—a specialized skillset we use to locate missing persons in challenging situations.
Our teams learned to:
- Spot items that appear out of place in the environment
- Identify unique boot prints
- Measure stride, straddle, and gait patterns
- Understand how people move uphill, downhill, around obstacles, and through varied terrain
- Communicate and coordinate effectively when following tracks through difficult ground

Every training session brings us one step closer to finding those who need us most.

Team CALSARA spent a fun evening earlier this week with the 159 Silver Springs - Scenic Acres Scouts giving a Hug-a-Tree Safety talk.
We had loads of fun teaching our young friends how to be safe outdoors and what to do if they get lost.
