Parenting while finishing school can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone 🩷
Through Louise Dean Centre, Kindred, the Calgary Board of Education, and Alberta Health Services provide a supportive learning environment for pregnant and parenting students.
With guidance from teachers, childcare educators, health professionals, and support workers, Louise Dean Centre offers students the opportunity to continue their education while building a healthy future for themselves and their children.

Exciting progress is underway at Kindred's future Sunridge location!
Construction is progressing, and we're one step closer to creating a space designed to better serve children, youth, and families across Calgary. This new location will help us expand access to supports, strengthen community connections, and create new opportunities for our clients and partners.
We're excited to watch the space come to life and look forward to sharing more updates as we move toward opening our doors this fall.

Every child experiences the world differently, and understanding your child’s emotions and temperament can change the way you respond as a parent.
Instead of asking yourself, “Why are they acting this way?”
Try asking:
🌻 What might they be feeling right now?
🌎 What environment helps them feel safe?
🤝 How can I respond with connection before correction?
When parents understand behavioural cues and emotional responses, it helps build stronger, more secure relationships with your child.

Understanding Youth Mental Health in 2026 💙
Youth across Alberta are facing growing mental health challenges, and the numbers continue to rise.
Behind every statistic is a young person, a family, and a community navigating real challenges. Supporting youth starts with creating safe spaces, encouraging honest conversations, and making mental health care easier to approach.
If you or someone in your family could benefit from support, Rapid Access Counselling can be an important first step toward getting connected with the right resources and tools. Explore our services here: https://www.kindred.ca/need-help/mental-health-services/
