Today we are reminded just how powerful relationships and culture truly are ❤️🧡
One of our students has been building connection, trust, and strength with Elder Russell since CALM 2025 🤝✨
A highlight has been seeing students find the courage to share their voices, including singing in front of staff and peers 🎶—a powerful reflection of growth and confidence. There have also been meaningful moments of appreciation shared through creative gifts during closing circles 🎨💛
These moments show us that when we prioritize relationships, create safe spaces, and center culture, incredible things happen. Growth, confidence, and healing become possible—one circle, one connection at a time 🌿

What an incredible day of learning and connection at Concordia University! 🎉
Our students from Ben Calf Robe (BCR) kicked things off with a fun scavenger hunt 🗺️, then had the chance to step into “university life” by choosing between a drama 🎭 or science 🔬 activity. It was such a great way to experience what a post-secondary class feels like!
We then toured the Indigenous Centre kihêwak kâpimihâcik, where we gathered in a circle outdoors with the Manager and Knowledge Keeper. 🌿 They led the students in a meaningful smudge and shared inspiring words about the journey through high school as Indigenous students. It was a truly powerful experience. ❤️
To top it off, each student was gifted a hoodie 👕—such a thoughtful and memorable gesture! We wrapped up the day with pizza 🍕 before heading back on the road.
So proud of our BCR students and the way they embraced every part of the day! 🙌
