Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Older adults deserve to live with dignity, respect, and safety. Yet elder abuse can take many forms—including emotional, financial, physical, and sexual abuse—and often goes unnoticed.
Learning the signs is one way we can all help create safer communities for older adults.
Visit our resource to learn more about recognizing elder abuse and supporting older adults: https://www.sace.ca/learn/supporting-older-adults/

Our friends at ACT are facing funding cuts, and we wanted to take a moment to share some love for the important work they do.
Human trafficking is complex, and no two situations are the same. ACT supports survivors with a survivor-centred approach, meeting people where they are and walking alongside them on their journey to safety.
Organizations like ACT make a real difference in our communities, and their work deserves to be seen and supported.
If you haven't already, please give them a follow, engage with their posts, and help spread the word about the incredible impact they have every day.

During the 70 hours of crisis line training, we will cover topics including:
💜 Sexual violence core facts and definitions and sexual assault within the criminal code

and much more!

A bear-y important visit.
Minister Searle Turton from the Ministry of Child & Family Services visited the SACE office during Sexual Violence Awareness Month to learn more about our programs and the services we provide in support of survivors.
We appreciate the opportunity to share our work and express gratitude to Minister Turton for sustained government support, which helps ensure these essential services remain accessible, responsive, and available to those who need them most.
