This spring, the College connected with dental assisting students across Alberta to help prepare them for the transition into professional practice.

Carly Simon, Regulatory Compliance Manager, spoke with graduates about applying for provisional registration, what to expect as new regulated professionals, and how the College supports safe practice in the public interest.

Provisional registration allows new graduates to practise under supervision while beginning their careers. Supervision may be provided by a Registered Dental Assistant, dentist, dental hygienist, denturist, or another professional approved by the College.

We’ve launched an upgraded CADA portal to provide a more reliable and improved experience for registrants.

Dental assistants, check your email inbox for your personal link to your portal account.

The first time you sign in, you’ll need to reset your password before accessing your registrant account.

The portal still provides you with one central hub to access and update your information. To make your transition to the upgraded portal as smooth as possible, we’ll be introducing portal updates in stages.

We’re joining the conversation at the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) National Conference 2026.

The College’s Deputy Registrar, April Slotsve and program approval review consultant, Carmen Sheridan will be presenting at Courage to Clarify: A Collaborative Review to Strengthen Workforce Readiness in Oral Health at CCHL National Conference 2026.

We’ll look at how our collaborative review of entry-to-practice education approval will lead to better preparing the workforce, easing onboarding pressures, and supporting people-centred care.

The Alberta Government is recruiting public members to serve on hearing tribunals and complaint review committees under the Health Professions Act (HPA).
