Our new Indigenous Health Subject Guide is here! 🙌
What started as medical librarian Lana Atkinson's idea grew into a publicly accessible collection of books, videos, reports and practical tools on First Nations, Métis and Inuit health, wellness and cultural safety.
This project was built alongside Indigenous partners and shaped by their voices.

Learning never stops in rural healthcare! 📚💙
Thanks to support from RHPAP’s Rural Education Fund, six registered nurses from St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Vegreville completed an Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) on May 13–14.
By investing in ongoing education, rural healthcare teams can continue to grow their skills, strengthen patient care, and ensure children and families receive high-quality care close to home.

Our pins say what our care has always shown. 🏳️🌈
This Pride Month, staff across our organization are wearing pins and lanyards in a visible show of support for the LGBTQ2S+ community: our colleagues, patients, residents and families.
These small, everyday actions help create welcoming environments where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
We're proud of our teams for the care and compassion they show every day in making our sites places where all people feel seen and respected. 💙

Learning through music and culture.🎵
As part of Indigenous Health Education Day, participants had the opportunity to experience Inuit throat singing and katajjaq with Jenna Broomfield and Jana Kadlugak Angulalik.
Through their performance, attendees were introduced to a unique cultural tradition rooted in Inuit history, storytelling and connection.
Drawing from their home regions of Nunatsiavut and Nunavut, Jenna and Jana shared not only their artistry, but also the rich cultural knowledge and experiences that have shaped their work.
Throughout National Indigenous History Month, we're reflecting on the knowledge, perspectives and traditions shared during Indigenous Health Education Day.🧡
