Canadian economy adds 88,000 jobs bringing unemployment rate down to 6.6%, while Edmonton's jobless rate is unchanged 7.1%, Calgary's rose to 7.0%, up from 6.7% in April & Red Deer's rate ticked up to 6.6%, up from 6.2% in April. Does Alberta separation referendum has something to do with it?

My hardworking & blessed relatively rich friends, Please don't be mad because our not so blessed neighbors are getting some help from our government so that can afford to eat. Just consider yourself blessed because you are not in that situation.

CAUTION, SCAM ALERT

On 1 June 2026, a Day Care operator was trying to log in their Scotia bank business account but was getting error messages. At the same time they got an email saying that their account security has been compromised abd they are working to resolve the issue asking them to call at a number that was secotia bank's telephone banking number. As they were reading the email they get a phone call from the same number and kept them on hold for an hour without asking any information. After an hour business owner noticed that $60,000 was transferred from their account using 12×$5000 transactions. In order for those transactions to happen someone need to generate 60 coupons from owner's phone when non of those coupons were generated from their phone. They went to bank branch personally and they made them wait 3 hrs just to file complaint. Still no answer from the bank.

One of my friends business account got scammed by $60000 from the Scotia bank website. Please be careful. This could happen to anyone.

Help is on the way for 12 million low to middle income Canadians. A family of 4 may be getting upto $717 on 5 June 2026. To receive this payment, make sure you have filled 2024 income tax return, even if you had no income.
