Day of Caring indeed!
Huge thanks to this incredible team of volunteers from BMO who joined us yesterday for the United Way Day of Caring. Thanks to their stellar organizational skills our donation room is tidy and items will be much easier for staff to access..
We are grateful for your time and your willingness to help!

A birthday came very close to sneaking past us… team member Alissa made sure that didn’t happen. Coffee house is all about community. Celebrating together, sharing stories, helping one another and a place to find hope. We’re so proud of this program. The team who staff it and the clients who show up and remind us daily about the importance of connection.
Thanks to program coordinator Jodie for wearing this awesome shirt today. Hope is definitely worth holding onto.

Ok, that’s it, we’ve called it. Whether it’s officially summer or not, we kicked off summer today —the unofficial one with grill master Nick! Thanks to a grant from Foresters Financial, Nick was able to purchase food to be grilled, water bananas and lots of great condiments. All the makings of a great barbecue!
Thanks to Nick, our Coffee House staff team and everyone who came and enjoyed lunch. It was a great day!
Also, huge thanks to Paul who presented Nick with a piece of his art to express appreciation for today and all that Nick does for us. ❤️

Thank you Carrie! What a generous gift that will be used to support many Coffee House clients.
As temperatures climb, having bottled water to offer is so important. We are open for just 3 service hours each day and we make a lot happen during those service hours!
When clients are leaving for the day we know staying hydrated is not easy. Having a bottle of water to offer is very helpful.
We are also in need of ball caps, sunscreen. shorts and t-shirts, razors, underarm deodorant, rain ponchos, umbrellas, hair brushes, jogging pants, hoodies and blankets.
We welcome donations at 371 Hamilton Road from 9:30-12:30, Monday-Sunday.
Sincere thanks to you for helping out in such meaningful ways. ❤️

Friends, we have some social media catching up to do!
Our planned posts for today got derailed a little bit (in the best possible way!) when friends with donuts walked through the door this morning!
We are full of gratitude for the incredible support we receive. Showing up with a box of freezies, meals, bag lunches and cases of water means more than you can possibly imagine.
Thank you to Michele and our wonderful friends at Gateway Church who are always doing something kind for us—delivering meals and snacks or volunteering, and ALWAYS cheering us on.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by with cases of water and also to those who have generously donated funds to purchase water (*and any other necessities). We are both relieved and grateful. We now have water to offer clients to go. Hydration is so important and also quite challenging if you are unsheltered or experiencing financial hardship.
And we’d just like to point out what is obvious to us but maybe not to you. We LOVE seeing you come through our doors! You are part of the team and we so appreciate you!
With gratitude from all of us at London Coffee House. ❤️ 💦 🙏

It was an absolute treat! Thank you so much!

You just never know what a day will bring.
Today we welcomed a giant donut and lots of friends. Our friends from Salvation Army arrived with friends from a neighbouring business—Balboni’s Donuts. They delivered delicious donuts to frontline staff in recognition of the work they do.
Happy National Donut Day everyone! A big shoutout to Balboni’s Donuts for donating donuts and to our valued community partner the Salvation Army for recognizing and reminding everyone that frontline work is often rewarding —but it’s hard work both physically and mentally.
Our staff team shows up every day ready to listen, support and act. One moment they may be celebrating with someone who has just been housed and the next moment they may be administering Naloxone to reverse an overdose—and there is so much in between.
A big shoutout to all frontline workers—the work you do is hard and so, so important. The work you do matters.
We are grateful for this community of ours.

Friends, Krista just let us know we are completely out of bottled water.
With temperatures on the rise and just 3 hours a day of service to clients, we need help when it comes to keeping everyone hydrated.
We would really appreciate donations of bottled water. They can be dropped off at 371 Hamilton Road (through the back gate) from 9:30-12:30, Monday through Sunday.
If the timing doesn’t work for you but you’d still like to help, you can donate to us on the CMHA TV website. Just write ‘water’ in the comments.
When you donate online ($20 or more) you receive a charitable tax receipt in your email right away.
We really appreciate your support. 💦

We are really grateful to Steve who seems to have a broom and dustpan in his hands more often than not.
Steve tidies all around the Coffee House—sidewalks, gutters and the driveway area. We really appreciate his help and how committed he is to making our space look and feel tidy.
Thank you Steve!

Prepare yourself, we’re pretty cute over here!
Thanks to a very generous PetSmart donation last weekend for Coffee House and My Sisters’ Place, we have got some well dressed pups!
Companion animals are sometimes our best friend and always our family. We do our best to help out when needed (and when possible) with a bit of cat or dog food. That is only possible because of donations like this one from PetSmart, Wonderland Rd. South and many of you that contribute when you can.
Sincere thanks from all of us at My Sisters’ Place and the London Coffee House. 🐈⬛🐶🐾🦴
