We had our food bank AGM last evening and we were all just struck by the numbers. 9% of London! It's staggering, - sometimes quite inspiring - but through all of it, the London community, in all its various dimensions, had our back. It's amazing and we thank you all for the difference you keep making.

Some stories are worth telling more than once.

Earlier in 2025, we were honoured to receive an extraordinary gift of $50,000. That generosity continues to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve every day.

We wanted to share this story again to recognize the incredible impact of this donation and to once again say thank you. THANK YOU Jim Nicholson of Thames Glass Limited for the amazing donation last year.

Your generosity lives on and ensures that our community can continue to share its food resources with those who need them most.

We were so happy to see so many of our volunteers join us for our Annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ last night! 🌭☀️

It was a wonderful evening filled with great food, laughter, and connection, and of course, the highlight of the night; Luis’s mocktails! 🍹

This year’s celebration was even more special as we marked 40 years of dedication, hard work, and a caring food bank community.

To every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and compassion: 💚 THANK YOU💚 You are the heart of our organization, and because of you, we can make an even greater impact in our community.

Here's to 40 years of making a difference together!

Actor Jeff Bridges has faithfully advocated against child hunger for three decades. His warnings are pertinent. Canada has been slipping in that direction for two decades. In 2026, 33% of kids under 18 are now food insecure. We've known this for a long time and done little. It's time to start.

Did you know London households throw away hundreds of dollars in perfectly good food every year?

Research from Western University shows the most wasted foods are:
🥕 Fruits & vegetables
🍞 Bread & baked goods
🥫 Dried goods
🍗 Meat & fish
🍽️ Leftovers

It’s the everyday items; the apples in your fridge, the loaf that went stale, last night’s dinner, that quietly add up. Across Ontario, organizations like Second Harvest are seeing the same trend: perishable foods make up most of what we throw away.

The good news? It’s easy to make a change:
✔️ Plan your meals
✔️ Store food properly
✔️ Don’t fear “best before” dates (they don’t mean unsafe)

Reducing food waste saves you money and helps the planet by keeping waste out of local landfills.

Let’s make every bite count!
