Become part of Village history!

The tradition of autograph quilts, also known as signature or friendship quilts, dates back to the 1840's, bringing communities together one stitch at a time. Fanshawe Pioneer Village last completed a Friendship Quilt project in 1992 to raise funds for our non-profit organization. That quilt is now part of our permanent collection!

For a $150 donation, your name (or a loved one’s) will be embroidered onto a quilt block. The finished quilt will become part of the Museum’s collection and be on public display in the Visitor Entrance / Toll Gate building for at least five years.

Experience the beloved world of “Anne of Green Gables” (TM) as the Village is transformed into Avonlea for the day!

This July 12th, step into the world of this classic Canadian novel, meet the residents of Avonlea, enjoy games and demonstrations, and learn about life in the nineteenth century.

Take a step back in time this Canada Day!

Enjoy musical performances, heritage skill demonstrations and vintage fair games as we celebrate Canada’s peoples of both today and yesterday.

Admission is 1/2 price for this event!

Make it a day and treat yourself to our Hot Dog BBQ Fundraiser at the Village Hall from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (or while supplies last). Veggie and halal hot dogs will be available.

Hear the biographies of singer-songwriter Salome Bey and writer Lawrence Hill, paired with a selection of stirring music inspired by their tales.

Tickets to this performance include admission to the Heritage Village, which is open from 10:00am - 4:00pm.

Are you a fibre artist? Do you belong to a guild or club? Do you want to share your skills and creations with a museum full of textile enthusiasts? Apply to be a Vendor or Heritage Craft Demonstrator at Fanshawe Pioneer Village's Textile Fair! The deadline to apply is tomorrow (June 7th) at midnight.

Fanshawe Pioneer Village is a living history museum covering the history of London and Middlesex County between 1820 and 1920. We have over 25 heritage buildings for visitors to explore, as well as a legacy of heritage craft demonstrations.

The Textile Fair aims to connect visitors with local craftspeople and inspire them to keep textile traditions alive. It will include demonstrations, an Artisan Market, a Flax Processing Workshop, and more activities to be announced! The Fair will take place on Saturday, September 5th, 2026.

Applicants practicing textile disciplines which are traditional, contemporary, tied to the local region, or international are all welcome!

Time is running out to secure your tickets to "Stories & Song with Denise Pelley"!

In their fifth performance in this series, award-winning musical artist Denise Pelley and accompanist Stephen Holowitz will share the biographies of singer-songwriter Salome Bey and writer Lawrence Hill, as well as sing a selection of titles inspired by their stories. (Please note that Lawrence Hill’s biography will be shared, but he himself will not make an appearance.)

Beautiful music is paired with stirring stories of famous Black Canadians at this special afternoon event in the restored 1848 African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Tickets to this performance include admission to the Heritage Village, which is open from 10:00am - 4:00pm.
