Today is a special day to celebrate our shared heritage, the French language, and the vibrant communities that contribute to the fabric of our province. At the EMSB, we are proud to prepare students to thrive in a bilingual and multicultural Quebec, where respect, inclusion, and understanding are at the heart of everything we do!

We'd like to wish all EMSB families and members of the community a joyful, safe, and memorable FĂȘte Nationale!

I am shocked, angry, outraged, and incredibly saddened by the tragic news today. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the police officer and civilian who lost their lives, as well as with those who were injured and all those affected by this senseless act of violence.

On behalf of the English Montreal School Board, I want to express our deepest gratitude to the first responders: the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency personnel who rushed toward danger to protect others. Their courage and dedication remind us of the extraordinary sacrifices made every day to keep our communities safe.

Today, we mourn alongside our fellow Montrealers and stand in solidarity with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire law enforcement community during this difficult time.

Thanks to Jody Wilson and the Jays Care School Program, students at Westmount Park Elementary stepped brought the ⚟ diamond into their school this spring! From crushing hits and perfect pitches to stealing bases, these young girls learned the fundamentals of baseball in an unforgettable hands-on experience.

If you’re interested in bringing the Jays Care program to your school, send us a DM!

EMSB Chair Joe Ortona was presented with a D’Arcy McGee National Assembly Citizenship Medal by Elizabeth Prass on June 19 for his efforts to support and defend the anglophone community and his unwavering commitment to public service. Our very own Mike Cohen spoke to Joe and, in a rare interview, asked his mother Ninfa about what kind of future she envisioned for her son when he was growing up.

Thank you to John Daniel, from Atelier Daniel Custom Framing in NDG who recently visited St. Monica Elementary School to share his knowledge on with the students.

As someone who has framed works of art for decades, John has developed an encyclopedic knowledge to go along with the pieces that come into his shop. Our students were engaged and fascinated by the Inuit culture; we can’t wait to have John come back next year!

For more information on Atelier Daniel, please visit: www.atelierdaniel.com or find John on Instagram at: .
