What an incredible few days celebrating Canadian and Indigenous filmmaking at the Cinematic Arts Awards and the Canadian Screen Awards!
40 Acres, directed by R.T. Thorne and produced by Jennifer Holness, took home 9 awards, including the John Dunning Best First Feature Film Award.
Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie also had a standout showing, earning 6 awards, with wins including Best Film, and both comedy acting awards for feature films!
Endless congratulations to the team behind Endless Cookie, the animated documentary from Seth and Peter Scriver, which won two awards, including Best Feature Length Documentary.
Compulsive Liar 2 was honoured with the Golden Screen Award for Feature Film, sponsored by Telefilm Canada, recognizing it as the highest-grossing Canadian film at the box office last year.
