On the occasion of Nursing Week, we recognize the inspiring journey of Stephanie Janes. With 15 years of experience in civilian healthcare, she became a military nurse in 2021 and is preparing to become the first graduate of the Canadian Forces Health Services Critical Care Nursing Officer–Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCNO–AA) program. Congratulations!
It’s Nursing Week, and we’re celebrating nurses who take on what’s next.
Capt Stephanie Janes spent 15 years working as a registered nurse in the civilian healthcare system, developing an extensive range of experience in the operating room, pediatric ICU, post anesthesia care, and emergency care. In search of new challenges and training, Capt Janes joined the CAF as a Nursing Officer in 2021.
Today, we celebrate Capt Janes as she prepares to become the first graduate of the CFHS Critical Care Nursing Officer–Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCNO–AA) program, marking a key advancement in CFHS’s team-based anesthesia capability. 👏

Congratulations to Chief Warrant Officer Susanne Généreux for her outstanding leadership at 1 Dental Unit since 2023 and on her appointment to her new role with the Director General Health Services (Clinical Services) and the Royal Canadian Dental Corps. Congratulations as well to Chief Warrant Officer Aimee Randall, who is making history as the first member of the Royal Canadian Medical Service to hold this position. We wish them both continued success in their ongoing service within the Canadian Armed Forces.
