Building on last year’s success, the Christie Lake Kids’ Four Seasons Soirée is back for another year. This signature event celebrates community and the impact of year-round recreation and mentorship programs for children in Ottawa.

Join us as we celebrate the beauty of all four seasons and make an impact that lasts all year.

We recently wrapped up another great session of Aikido before summer break, and our final class was one to remember.

A really special moment came as two kids were presented with their yellow belts. Belt promotions are significant milestones in any martial arts journey, and reaching this level is a meaningful accomplishment that we don’t often see in our program. Their commitment and hard work throughout the session made this moment well deserved.

We are so proud of the dedication all our participants have shown and incredibly grateful to our volunteer instructors, Sensei Garry, Eric, and Tomoko, who generously give their time, knowledge, and encouragement each week.

Providing this program free of charge is central to our mission of removing barriers and creating opportunities for young people. We feel fortunate to be able to offer experiences like Aikido that help youth build confidence, discipline, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Congratulations again to our newest yellow belts and thank you to everyone who helps make this program possible.

What an incredible day celebrating the 30th Annual Enbridge Canoe for Kids this past Saturday!

Despite the rainy weather, our participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters showed up in full force to make this milestone event a success. Together, we raised over $143,000 in support of Christie Lake Kids’ Summer Camp Program.

What an incredible day we had at camp on Saturday with a team of RBC volunteers!

A huge thank you to Ryan Smith from RBC for helping coordinate this volunteer opportunity and connecting us with such an enthusiastic group of volunteers. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and rolled up their sleeves to help get camp ready for the summer season. From working on the dock, chopping and stacking wood, building and refreshing vegetable boxes, painting, and tackling a variety of cleaning projects, the team made a tremendous impact in just one day.

Their enthusiasm, hard work, and willingness to take on whatever was needed helped move us one step closer to welcoming campers for another amazing summer. Every project completed helps create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience for the children and families we serve.

Days like today are a great reminder of what can happen when community partners come together to support a shared goal. We are incredibly grateful for the RBC team's time, energy, and commitment, and we can't wait to see campers enjoying the spaces they helped prepare.
