Behind every sandwich is a story 🥪💙 Every week, our Street Outreach teams meet people carrying burdens most of us never see: grief, loneliness, illness, addiction, and uncertainty.
Our newest blog shares some of the powerful encounters that have touched both our volunteers and the people they serve. From prayers shared on a sidewalk to conversations that remind someone they’re not forgotten, these moments reveal the heart of what outreach is all about.

You may have noticed our red vests throughout downtown Ottawa 👀❤️
Each vest represents someone choosing to come alongside and support our street friends during their evenings and weekends, offering compassionate care. Sometimes a simple moment of connection can make a lasting difference in someone’s day 💙
We are grateful for every volunteer who continues to serve with kindness and commitment across our community 😊

Take a short break from social media, and let's pray for Edward. Right now, join us in praying for his significant mental health challenges 🙏
Please pray that God would bring peace, healing, and hope into his life and that he would experience God’s presence in a powerful way. ❤️
Thank you for praying with us!

Serving others often comes with both joyful moments and difficult ones 💙
In this new blog, Elizabeth shares reflections from two very different days serving Veterans through OIM’s IVOS ministry. One brought grief and loss while the other brought encouragement and hope through helping Veterans overcome challenges in their lives.
It's a meaningful reflection on compassionate service and what it looks like to walk alongside others with care and support ❤️

Serving those who served 🇨🇦❤️
Through OIM’s Innercity Veterans Outreach and Support (IVOS) program, homeless and at-risk Veterans receive support through practical care, weekly fellowship, street outreach, and one-on-one help from staff in a welcoming community 😊
Whether it’s through meals, conversations, resources, or simply being present, this program exists to remind Veterans that they are valued, supported, and never alone.
