As she officially ends her term as Governor General of Canada, the Board and staff members of Pauktuutit want to recognize and celebrate Mary Simon!
As the first Indigenous person—and first Inuk—to serve in this role, she has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, resilience, and commitment to advancing reconciliation and elevating Indigenous voices across the country. Her journey is a powerful testament to the strength, wisdom, and vision of Inuit women.
She is a great inspiration to all of us, and will be a role model for Inuit women and girls for years to come.
