Less than half (47%) of Canadians have accessed their own electronic health records.

Records should follow patients, wherever they go for care. Shared information means safer, faster, more coordinated tests and treatments.

Only 29% of physicians can share patient information outside their practice.

Doctors should have patient information at their fingertips. No more chasing records across incompatible platforms. No more fax machines. No more patients repeating medical concerns from one appointment to the next.

Toronto native is a childhood cancer survivor and was officially added to Canada's FIFA World Cup 2026 squad on Tuesday.

The adversity that Nelson battled in the past year to fight his way onto to Canada’s roster is nothing compared to Jayden’s life-and-death travails as a toddler.

At just 18 months of age, he was diagnosed with a rare form of testicular germ cell cancer. Chemotherapy initially took it into remission, but when the disease returned to his lungs, Nelson’s devastated family was warned that the damage done would almost certainly mean that an active lifestyle, including sports, would be out of the question.

Jayden wants to tell his story so other kids can be inspired to do the same.

The financial burden of cancer is profound, affecting both patients and caregivers. While Canada's universal healthcare covers core hospital and physician fees, the average patient faces $33,000 in out-of-pocket costs and lost income over their lifetime. These combined burdens can lead to a reduced quality of life and non-adherence to treatments.

This story is an inspiring show of support! It's heartwarming to see co-workers come together to help one of their own during such a difficult time. Let's continue to raise awareness about the financial challenges cancer patients face and stand by them!

Just touched down back in Ottawa from being in Calgary for a couple days and have been thinking a lot about today and what it means to people in the cancer community.

Survivor as a term, in some settings, has become a hot button issue. Some people don’t identify with it, and you know what? That is okay. The person chooses and defines their journey. Not us.

I want anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, made it through treatment, has been declared no evidence of disease, has been encouraged to view the treatment of their cancer as a chronic disease, and living despite their diagnosis to know they are surviving cancer therefore you are a survivor.

Today is for you to celebrate your milestones, big and small. Hold onto these moments, for they tell your story of strength, resilience, and healing.
