Today, we gather to honour & remember Provincial Constable Tarun Bali.

PC Bali answered a calling to serve others with courage, integrity, & compassion. His service & unwavering commitment to duty will never be forgotten.

His death is a profound reminder of the risks & dangers police officers face each day in service to their communities. The loss of a colleague underscores the sacrifices made by those who wear the badge & by the families who stand behind them.

We will honour his memory through our continued commitment to service, community, & one another.

Congratulations to Deputy Chief Designate Ryan Connolly & Deputy Chief Designate Chirag Bhatt on their appointments as Deputy Chiefs with .

These appointments reflect distinguished careers of service, leadership, & dedication to community safety. We wish both Deputy Chiefs continued success in their new roles as they help lead DRPS into the future.

Today’s death in the line of duty of Constable Marc Pinizzotto is another grim reminder of the dangers police officers face each day. They answer the call without hesitation to protect their fellow citizens knowing that each call has the potential for danger and extreme violence.

Police leaders across stand with the family & colleagues of Cst. Pinizzotto, a brave officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. A hero in life.

We honour OPP Const. Tarun Bali, a member of the Dufferin Detachment with two and a half years of service, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while on deployment with the James Bay Detachment.

The is pleased to announce that the Ontario Provincial Police Dark Web Disruption Team is the recipient of the 2026 OACP Excellence in Information Technology Services Award.

The Dark Web Disruption Team strengthened Ontario’s Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet by delivering new technology and expanding on current roles and processes that raise the standard of service, increase child protection, and enhance public safety.
