Council will be debating councillor compensation tonight.

I can understand the argument that fair compensation may encourage younger people and those with families to consider public service.

As for us old folks, if we don’t need the extra money, there’s always the option of quietly donating it to a favourite County charity that supports the constituents we serve.

Before tonight’s discussion, I’d like to hear from the public. What are your thoughts on councillor compensation and how it should be approached in Prince Edward County? Please keep your comments respectful and constructive.
