Today marks the 30th anniversary of Indigenous Peoples Day.

It is a time to recognize and celebrate the cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. As communities across Canada come together to mark this important day, we reflect on the importance of learning from Indigenous voices and experiences.

Thank you to Deputy Minister Deborah Richardson for spending the afternoon with us at Safehaven’s Toronto site.
It was a pleasure to share more about our work supporting children and adults with complex care needs, and to introduce some of the incredible clients who make our community so special.

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month.  At Safehaven, we recognize the impact brain injuries can have on individuals and families.

This month, we join communities across Canada in raising awareness and recognizing the strength and resilience of those living with brain injuries every day.

Today, Safehaven proudly recognizes Red Shirt Day, led by and celebrates the importance of accessibility and inclusion for all.  We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate fully in their community. Thank you to everyone who wore red and helped raise awareness for a more accessible future.

We’re wrapping up May with so many moments worth celebrating. Mother’s Day, some beautiful weather, and lots of cotton candy made it a fun and memorable month. We can’t forget celebrating Nursing Week and PSW Day, and recognizing the incredible staff who make such a difference every day.

We can’t wait to see what our Safehaven clients will be up to in June!

From a day at to belly dancing and lots of cake, this month was full of sweet moments.  Happy birthday to all of our May superstars. We loved celebrating with you!

SAFEHAVEN KIDS SERIES: Say Hi to Tesnim   

You’ll often find Tesnim cozy and content watching It always brings a smile to her face. She also has a birthday coming up next month and we can’t wait to celebrate her!
