Had the honour of calling on The Honourable Victor Fedeli, Ontario's Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. It was a great pleasure to have timely dialogue with Minister Fedeli on issues of shared strategic importance. It is always my priority to observe important developments and major policy initiatives in Ontario which require Japanese stakeholders' attentions. It is also my priority to bring these stakeholders' priorities to the attention of the leadership of this great province. Today's meeting also served yet another opportunity to convey my hearty sense of appreciation for Minister Fedeli's tireless commitments to enhancing the strategic economic partnership between Japan and Ontario đŸ‡¯đŸ‡ĩ🤝🇨đŸ‡Ļ
Thank you so much!

Had the pleasure of visiting Skygauge Robotics, a Hamilton-based startup of drones designed for hazardous inspection.

Leveraging innovative thrust-vectoring technology, its drones transform the entire landscapes of NDT (non-destructive testing) for infrastructure maintenance. In lieu of the dangerous, time-consuming and expensive conventional modus operandi relying on scaffolding, man-lifts and ropes, its ultrasonic testing dromes enables inspections with dramatically enhanced worker safety, reduced downtime and minimised costs.

Their "angled flight" capabilities allow inspecting complex geometries like sloped tank roofs or curved piping systems.

Furthermore, their versatility and modulability are enabling enhanced usability beyond inspections.

There is little doubt that there are considerable potential demands in Japan đŸ‡¯đŸ‡ĩ for these products and services from this Canadian company 🇨đŸ‡Ļ

Thank you to Mr. Maksym Korol, Chief Product Officer and his colleague Mr. Will Manko for showcasing this amazing technology which goes a long way in manifold industries! Thank you to Ms. Jennifer Patterson of Invest in Hamilton for connecting us! It was nice to meet with her colleague Mr. Alfonso Principato as well!

Had the pleasure of rooting for Mr. Koichi Nakamura, a Japanese professional lacrosse player who continues to challenge himself based in North America, the heartland of this sport with a noble heritage. He started playing lacrosse after entering university at the age of 18, and has an unusual background, having forged his own path from having no connections or information, and reaching the professional league in North America. He currently plays for Belleville Kodiaks. Today Mr. Nakamura said "I will do my best. I would appreciate your continued support." On this National Indigenous Peoples Day, we pay tribute to this living legacy rooted in Indigenous cultures, and offer our heartfelt cheers to Mr. Nakamura for his passion and dedication to this Canadian national sport, the fastest game on two feet!

We felt immense joy in joining the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Tiger Jeet Singh Public School which was named after the legendary wrestler and philanthropist.

With the motto of "Be kind, Work hard, Make a difference together," this sanctuary of awakening spirits epitomises the Canadian virtue of cultural diversity and inclusion.

To commemorate the milestone and to celebrate the friendship between the peoples of Japan and Canada, we donated cherry tree saplings which were planted by the students and teachers of the School and community leaders and other guests.

Dignitaries who carved a moment out of their monumental schedules to grace the event included Mayor Gordon Krantz, MP Kristina Tesser Derksen, MPP Hardeep Grewal, Regional Councillor Sameera Ali and HDSB Trustee Donna Danielli.

Thank you so much to Principal Gurdeel Lall and other teachers, students and their parents for hosting such a wonderful event and having us! And thank you to Tiger Jeet Singh Junior and his Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation colleagues for connecting us all!
