With Pride Month underway, it’s a meaningful time to reflect on what it truly means to show up as an ally.
In sports, allyship is more than just support in words. It’s about creating spaces where everybody feels safe, respected, and free to participate as themselves.
Off the field, that same commitment continues in how we speak, act, and advocate for inclusion in our communities every day.
Let your allyship be more than performative! We can all do our part to advocate for a future where everyone can live authentically without fear.
If you are a victim of a hate crime related to your gender identity or sexual orientation, our crisis counsellors are here to help. Don’t hesitate to call our 24/7 crisis line at 416-808-7066.

Financial stability is key to a human trafficking survivor’s ability to rebuild their life, but for many, the weight of fraudulent debt stands in the way of recovery.
Reclaim supports human trafficking survivors across Canada by advocating directly with creditors and helping remove fraudulent or coercive debt from their names and records.
To date, Reclaim has successfully resolved 95% of coerced debt cases, with over $2 million in fraudulent debt cleared since its launch.

On May 15, the Supreme Court of Canada made a landmark decision to recognize a new tort of intimate partner violence, acknowledging that existing torts do not fully address the harm of coercive control.
This is an important development in how intimate partner violence is understood within Canadian law, and may pave the way for survivors to pursue civil action for financial control, coercion, isolation, intimidation, and more.
We are encouraged by what this may mean for survivors, and we hope this marks a continued shift toward expanding access to justice for survivors of intimate partner violence in Canada.
If you or someone you know has experienced intimate partner violence, you are not alone. Call 416-808-7066 to speak with one of our crisis counsellors or share this number with anyone who may need support. Our phone lines are open 24/7.
