This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger and the right of every person to be seen, valued and respected for who they truly are πŸ’šπŸŒˆ

At MFRC, we believe that everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging and to live freely in spaces that are safe and inclusive. Pride Month is a time to honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, celebrate the many identities that enrich our
communities and reflect on the role we all play in creating a more equitable future.

Being an ally means listening, learning, speaking up and helping build spaces where everyone can thrive.

This June and every month, we celebrate the freedom to be ourselves.

The pressure to always be β€œokay” is something many youth carry quietly.
In our latest article, our Youth Mental Health Coordinator reflects on recent sessions with high school students about comparison, confidence, gratitude, and self-worth in today’s online world.

It is a powerful reminder that young people need spaces where they can speak honestly, feel supported, and remember that their worth is not defined by social media, appearance, or achievements.

We are inspired every day by the way our seniors continue to learn, create, and show up with curiosity ❀️

Our Seniors Wood Burning Program is a welcoming space where older adults come together to discover new skills, share meaningful conversations, and foster connection through creativity. Week after week, participants return with patience and an openness to learning, reminding us that discovery has no age limit.

The spirit of our seniors is a beautiful reminder that creativity can flourish at any age. Together, we celebrate lifelong learning and the connections that make our community strong. ✨

A beautiful celebration of care, connection and community πŸ’

Our Mother’s Day celebration at MFRC brought people together around shared meals, movement, painting, henna, and creative activities. It was a warm evening filled with laughter and moments of joy.

More than anything, it was a chance to celebrate mothers and caregivers in our community.

These moments remind us that community is built in simple, meaningful ways - around a table, in spaces where people feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated πŸ’š
