Happy Pride Month from the Jane/Finch Centre!
This month is dedicated to celebrating q***r resistance and the power of visibility and self-determination.
Pride Month reminds us that celebration and advocacy go hand in hand. Q***r, trans and non-binary folks continue to face significant barriers, discrimination and systemic exclusion. Pride is a reminder that the work towards equity is far from over.
We also acknowledge the legacy and ongoing work led by 2SLGBTQ+ communities in creating safe and inclusive spaces across the country; work that has given rise to powerful cultural and resistance movements, positively impacting countless communities and lives across generations.
At the Jane/Finch Centre, we remain committed to ensuring our spaces, programs, partnerships, and employment practices are safe, inclusive, and identity-affirming for all 2SLGBTQ+, transgender, and non-binary residents, participants, staff, and community members.
This month, we’ll be hosting our 2nd annual community pride walk, and we would love for you to join us! Keep an eye on our social media for registration details.
We’re proud to partner with a variety of organizations, grassroots groups, and local leaders who directly support 2SLGBTQ+, transgender, and non-binary folks across the GTA. We will continue to share their work and events all month long.

How do you get alerted about heat waves? Where do you go for updates when temperatures rise?
Sprout, in collaboration with Toronto Climate Observatory is hosting a community workshop to co-design how heat information and alerts are shared in our city.
Heat waves are one of Toronto’s most serious weather risks, but the systems meant to keep communities informed don’t always reach everyone. This workshop is designed to center community voices and experiences in shaping how heat information is shared.
This workshop is open to all community members!

📍Jane Finch Mall | 1911 Finch Ave West

In the 1990s, the Jane/Finch Centre expanded its mandate to formally include youth, reflecting the growing needs of the community.
During this decade, JFC introduced anti-racism programs, community speak-outs, and substance use prevention initiatives to support youth and families across Jane and Finch.
As programs grew, JFC also expanded its main office, securing two additional units to better serve the community.
