Vorgestellt werden Objekte aus Indien, China und Japan. Sie erfahren, warum die Teezusammenkunft als eigene Form der Weisheit zu verstehen ist und wie diese mit dem Zen-Buddhismus zusammenhängt. 🍵

You will learn why the tea gathering is to be understood as its own form of wisdom and how this is related to Zen Buddhism. 🍵

35 Schüler*innen des Thomas-Mann-Gymnasiums übernehmen gemeinsam mit der australischen Künstlergruppe das Ruder im Humboldt Forum – und verwandeln den großen Saal in ein lebendiges, gemeinschaftliches Festmahl: erdacht von jungen Köpfen und offen für alle.

Im Zentrum des stehen zwei radikal einfache Fragen:

Was kannst du geben? Was brauchst du?

Aus diesen Fragen entsteht ein spielerisches Format an kleinen, intimen Tischen, die im Raum verteilt sind. Begleitet von den Schüler*innen kommen Besucher*innen zusammen, teilen Geschichten, Fähigkeiten, Essen und überraschende Angebote – und erleben, wie Großzügigkeit von Mensch zu Mensch weitergegeben wird. Im Laufe des Abends durchziehen kurze künstlerische Momente den Raum: Musik, Bewegung und spontane Interventionen.

Erlebt das Humboldt Forum als Forum, als Festmahl und als Party.

35 students from Thomas Mann Gymnasium will come together with the australian artist group The Farmand take the reins of Social Muscle Club, transforming the Humboldt Forum into a living, breathing communal feast — designed by young minds, and open to absolutely everyone.

is powered by two radically simple questions:

What can you give?
What do you need?

These questions unfold as a game played at intimate tables spread throughout the hall. Guided by the students, you will share food, stories, skills and unexpected offers, witnessing generosity moving freely across your table. Throughout the evening, short performances will ripple through the space — music, movement, interventions — before the night opens into a celebratory party for those who wish to stay and continue the exchange.

Engage with the Humboldt Forum as a forum, as a feast, and as a party.

Im Rahmen des Jahresprogramms „Beziehungsweise Familie“ zeigt die Ausstellung „Verwandt sein – Geteilte Sprache, geteiltes Wissen“ von ELAR Archive , wie Sprache Verbindungen schafft – zwischen Menschen, Kulturen und Generationen. Sie macht sichtbar, wie Wissen gemeinsam entsteht und weitergegeben wird.
🌍 Ein Perspektivwechsel, der zum Nachdenken anregt: über Zugehörigkeit, Austausch und das, was uns wirklich verbindet.

As part of the annual program “Beziehungsweise Familie”, the exhibition “Being Related – Shared Language, Shared Knowledge” by ELAR Archive explores how language creates connections – between people, cultures, and generations. It highlights how knowledge is created collectively and passed on.

🌍 A shift in perspective that invites reflection on belonging, exchange, and what truly connects us.

[English below]✨Familie kann so vieles sein – und im ersten Raum unserer Ausstellung „Beziehungsweise Familie“ wird das sichtbar und erlebbar.
🏐An der Mitmachstation könnt ihr eure eigene Familienaufstellung legen: Mit farbigen Bällen entsteht ein Bild davon, wer für euch dazugehört, wer euch prägt und welche Beziehungen wichtig sind. Jede Konstellation erzählt eine eigene Geschichte.
Zwischen den Installationen begegnet ihr außerdem besonderen Fotos von Menschen und ihren bedeutsamen Augenblicken in der Familie – Momentaufnahmen von Nähe, Wandel, Alltag und Verbundenheit. Es zeigt, wie vielfältig Familie gelebt wird.

👉Und das ist nur der Anfang: In der Ausstellung warten noch viele weitere Mitmachstationen, Perspektiven, Stimmen und Geschichten darauf, entdeckt zu werden, die wir euch demnächst vorstellen.

[EN] ✨Family can mean so many things – and this becomes clear and tangible in the first room of our exhibition ‘Family Matters’.

🏐At the interactive station, you can create your own family constellation: using coloured balls, you can create a picture of who belongs to your family, who influences you and which relationships are important to you. Each constellation tells its own story.
Between the installations, you will also encounter special photos of people and their significant moments in the family – snapshots of closeness, change, everyday life and connection. It shows how diverse family life can be.

👉And that's just the beginning: there are many more interactive stations, perspectives, voices and stories waiting to be discovered in the exhibition, which we will introduce to you soon.
