Today is World Oceans Day 🌊
As a Pacific nation, New Zealand is deeply connected to the ocean (moana).
Our exclusive economic zone is one of the largest in the world, covering an area more than 15 times our landmass.
The seafood sector generates around NZD 5 billion in economic output each year and supports communities across the country. 🐟
Our oceans connect us to each other and to the rest of the world, including Germany. New Zealand and Germany also work together on ocean and climate research in Antarctica, contributing to a deeper understanding of our oceans.
