As part of the celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, High Commission of India, Suva and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in collaboration with Ministry of Women, Youth, Sports & Social Affairs (MWYSSA) of Kiribati organized a vibrant yoga session at KNYC Maneaba today.
High Commissioner Suneet Mehta highlighted yogaโs universal message of harmony, wellness, and unity. On the sidelines, he also met with MWYSSA officials and discussed setting up of Yoga Centre in Kiribati as announced under FIPIC-III ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, yoga practitioners and local community members, highlighting the growing awareness of yogaโs role in promoting physical health and mental well-being.

High Commissioner Suneet Mehta was pleased to meet with a high-level team from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy of Kiribati.
Fruitful discussions focussed on strengthening IndiaโKiribati cooperation in water and sanitation infrastructure, climate-resilient initiatives and greater engagement of Indian businesses to support sustainable development.
HC also discussed the establishment of a desalination plant, fulfilling a commitment made under FIPIC III.
