25 years of shaping leaders for Fiji, and today we honour the voices that carried us through even the quietest seasons.

During our 20th anniversary, COVID-19 meant no big gatherings, no fanfare and no stage lights. But our Alumni still showed up with heart. They shared reflections that captured the essence of Leadership Fiji: growth, courage, connection and service.

Many of these Alumni have since moved on to new opportunities and new callings.

Isn’t it powerful that we captured their reflections back then? Here is a snapshot of who they were at the time, and their reflections of the impact that Leadership Fiji had on them.

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we bring their words back to the fore. Their journeys continue, and so does ours.

Stay tuned as we share our Alumni stories and reflections throughout the year.

Leadership Fiji 2026 Advocacy Challenge: Team Taura Tale – Honouring and Protecting Our Elders

Today, on 15 June 2026, Team Taura Tale joins communities across Fiji and around the world in recognising World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

This Advocacy Challenge reflects our commitment to strengthening the protection, dignity, and wellbeing of our elders.

In the lead up, the team supported an awareness session at KPMG Fiji in Suva on 9 June 2026, with colleagues from Garden City and Nadi joining virtually. The session, delivered by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection, created space for learning and reflection on the realities of elder abuse.

Today, we stand with the Ministry and the community at Vugalei Settlement in Lami, where elders were invited to a celebration recognising their contribution and legacy. Chief Guests Kaminieli Tausere and Kini Tabuavou joined to mark the occasion.

As part of the programme, Dr Matavesi Telawa of Team Taura Tale, shared insights on eye health. The team also provided refreshments and gifts to elders and their carers as a small gesture of care and appreciation.

Elder abuse is often unseen, yet deeply felt. It requires awareness, empathy, and action from all of us.

As leaders, advocacy is reflected in how we show up, how we listen, and how we protect the dignity of others.

Together, we honour our elders. Together, we take a stand.
