Vanuatu is represented here at the Forum Trade Officials meeting in Suva from Wednesday 3-5th June by Director General, Mr. Noah Koubak from the Ministry of Trades &Commerce supported by Mrs Betty Rose from the Department of External Trade from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation & External Trade.

Director Rothina Ilo-Noka from the Department of Women's Affairs is representing the Ministry for Women, Youth, Justice & Community Services in Suva for the Pacific Women Leaders Ministerial Meeting from Wednesday 3rd - Friday 5th June 2026.
It was an honor for the High Commissioner to join the Director and her team at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIF) for the CSO, Private Sector Dialogue and the Youth Dialogue.
In acknowledging the efforts and valuable partnerships offered by CSO and NGO, Director Ilo-Noka reiterated the importance of working with existing structures and mechanisms and fostering engagements with faith based organizations, village structures in the communities who have a far wider reach in their communities.As well Director called for Gender Responsive Budgeting.
From institutions across Suva, Director Ilo-Noka was also joined by Vanuatu students from USP and FNU for the Youth Dialogue and the Pacific Youth Development Framework discussions. It provided valuable opportunities to listen to Pacific Youth speak on Health care and supporting youth navigate this, Mental Health often culturally silenced, HIV and drugs as a growing pandemic in the Pacific Region, Climate change and how this has impacted Pacific Youth.
Ministers and Senior Officials were reminded of including our young people in steering our canoe and leaning into their strength, digital advantage, resilience and as equally partners in implementation and as part of resources and solutions.

The High Commissioner was privileged to join the Labour Tripartite officials meeting in Nadi from 11th - 13th May, culminating in the Labour Ministerial Meeting on Wednesda13th May. The Meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Employment of the Republic of Fiji.
Great discussions amongst participating member countries on the governance and institutional arrangements of a business case for a stand alone Labour ministers meeting (LMM) aligned under the Regional Architecture through the Pacific Islands Forum (PIFs).
Honorable Andrew Napuat, Minister for Internal Affairs, in his statement emphasized that the meeting was being convened at a critical time for our Pacific family when our countries are facing continued socioeconomic pressures, including rising unemployment, labor mobility challenges, labor, shortages, and migration challenges, climate change impacts and the need to strengthen workforce resilience and productivity. He also reiterated, that labour, employment, skills development, and work force governance are central to regional economic resilience, productivity and social stability and long-term prosperity for our countries in the region, including Vanuatu.
