Hear what people across 38 countries had to say as we launch the OECD Survey on Drivers of Trust in Public Institutions 2026 Results.

This report provides new evidence on how trust in public institutions has evolved since 2021. It also examines the implications for improving public governance and delivering better outcomes for citizens.

Asia is the world’s fastest growing economic region and now accounts for one-third of global GDP.

In 2025, nearly 40% of all capital (financial resources such as money invested to fund businesses) raised globally came from Asian companies, reflecting the growing importance of Asia’s capital markets.

Despite heightened trade policy uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, Asian capital markets continued to provide essential financing to governments and companies facing increasing funding needs.

However, initial public offering (IPO) activity - a way for companies to access public equity markets - contracted by 11% compared with its 2022‑2024 average while increasing by 37% in the rest of the world.
