We are incredibly proud to announce that, thanks to the generous support and funding provided by
Cllr Steven Smithson,
Oswaldtwistle Onwards has been able to work closely with local Oswaldtwistle business
J & G Memories to create our brand-new Oswaldtwistle Onwards T-Shirts and Hi-Vis Vests.

These will be proudly worn by our volunteers at future community events, helping us represent our town, support local initiatives, and ensure our team is visible and approachable whenever we’re out making a difference.

You’ll see them in action at upcoming events including:

HYNDBURN BUSINESS AWARDS was full of energy last night.

Congrats to all the finalists and worthy winners ! It was fantastic to see so many small businesses from across the borough in the room - particularly the start-ups and young people taking part in apprenticeships.

It’s simple: if businesses don’t succeed, neither does our area. That’s why we MUST do more - whether that’s scrapping business rates for high streets, improving the visual appeal of our towns, regenerating empty areas or incentivising employment.

There is more to be done nationally and locally, and I certainly continue to make that case. But in the meantime and despite tough times for many running their own business, it’s inspiring to see so many people embracing that entrepreneurial spirit and driving our local economy forward 👏

🚖Speeding in Oswaldtwistle update

Many residents have contacted me regarding ongoing speeding concerns on Harvey Street in Oswaldtwistle.

I am pleased the police was on Harvey Street carrying out speed enforcement checks between 1830 to 2000 of 256 cars going past us we caught 72 speeding, highest speed was 39 in a 20 zone. That works out to be 28% of cars speeding.
