According to UK data, one in six older people are victims of abuse. That's more than 16% of our mothers, fathers, grandparents, relatives, friends and neighbours.
Every older person deserves to live safely, with dignity, independence and respect. Raising awareness is an important step towards protecting those who may be vulnerable and ensuring they know support is available.
If you are concerned about an older person experiencing abuse or neglect, please speak up. A conversation could make a life-changing difference.π

As we come to the end of Carers Week, we're taking a moment to reflect on something we're incredibly proud of...
A Homecare.co.uk review score of 9.9 out of 10. βββββ
While awards and recognition are always appreciated, what matters most to us is the trust that families place in our team every single day.
Inviting someone into your home to support a loved one is a huge decision. It requires trust, confidence and reassurance that your family member will be treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
That's why feedback like this means so much.
Behind every review is a family who chose Ashridge, a client whose quality of life has been enhanced, and a dedicated member of our team who has gone above and beyond to make a difference.
We're committed to continually improving, listening, learning and delivering the high-quality, award-winning care that our clients deserve.
A huge thank you to our wonderful carers, office team, clients and families for your continued support and feedback. We couldn't achieve results like this without you. π
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekendπ

Looking after a loved one is one of the most caring and selfless things a person can do. But even the most dedicated family carers need support from time to time.
If you're balancing appointments, medications, daily routines and everything else that comes with caring, it's important to remember that you don't have to carry it all on your own.
This Carers Week, we've shared 5 simple ways to strengthen your support network, plan ahead, and create a little more space for your own wellbeing.
Because when family carers are supported, everyone benefits. π

When a loved one starts needing more support, many families feel they are facing a difficult choice.
For some, the conversation quickly turns to residential care. But what if there was a more flexible, person-centred approach?
Care doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing decision.
Many families find that starting with a few home care visits each week can provide the support they need whilst helping their loved one maintain their independence, routines, friendships and connection to the place they know best β home.
As needs change over time, support can gradually increase. This might mean additional visits, overnight care, respite support, or eventually live-in care if and when it becomes the right choice.
It's a gentler approach that allows care to evolve alongside a person's needs, rather than requiring a major life change before it's truly necessary.
At Ashridge, we believe families should always be in the driving seat. Care works best when it is built around the individual, with decisions made together and support introduced at a pace that feels right for everyone involved.
This , we're encouraging families to explore all of their options and to have conversations early. Planning ahead often creates more choice, less stress, and better outcomes for everyone.
