Huge congratulations to our theatre cricket team who triumphed over their colleagues at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust earlier this month, all in aid of a good cause.

The lively 20:20 match, played in great spirit and watched by an enthusiastic crowd saw over Β£1,100 raised for UKROPS. The charity was set up by Southampton based consultant anaesthetist Leo Krivskiy in 2024 to support fellow medics in Ukraine.

Today is National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day, and the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on the work our teams and partners do to keep our services running smoothly.

From porters, post services, security, parking, housekeeping, catering, grounds maintenance, pest control, waste, laundry, maintenance and the support team for our helipad at QA Hospital, much of the work these teams do is behind the scenes but vital in keeping our sites safe, clean and prepared.

To every member of our Estates and Facilities teams across PHU and IWT, thank you for the incredible work you do every day.

This helps speed up decisions for some of our most unwell patients, including newborn babies in NICU.

The change replaces outdated processes like transferring images via USBs and CDs, making imaging safer, faster, and fully part of the patient record.
