The cars were tested in groups, with the winners going through to an all tutor group battle at the end of the day, topped off by some more explosive experiments from Mr Cumner and Mr Rabani, and rocket car team awards (videos to follow separately)
Year 8 Camp A spent the morning in a trading game between virtual countries along with creating an insect related menu/poster/dragon's den pitch, and a maths tessellation activity this afternoon. Camp B are on their second day at Tile Barn (photos and videos to follow separately)

Over the last couple of weeks both year 8 and 9 students had the opportunity to visit Farnborough Airport.

The trip started with a presentation about the history of the airport, the destinations the planes fly to and also the number of jobs created by the airport. This was followed by a tour of the hangars, the lounges and terminal, where we met different employers who spoke to us in more detail about what they did and what it involved. There was a chance to look at some of the private jets and students were amazed at how much they cost to purchase and maintain.

Our thanks to Farnborough Airport for giving our students this great opportunity!

During the next few weeks we are showcasing our Academic Student Leaders. These are students that have applied for an academic leadership role to support a particular department to gain further subject experience, to contribute to activities and clubs, to help with resources, and complete other jobs within the department. Student leaders gain a subject specific badge.

This week we are showcasing our Art student leaders. They have been helping support Art club, updating the displays in Dinorben block, choosing the artist of the month for years 7-9, and planning art based student competitions.

Well done to our student leaders for their upstanding contribution and help with our departments!
