On Sunday 14th June, our cadets and staff enjoyed a fantastic day at the RAF Cosford Air Show.

The weather was kind to us, and everyone had the opportunity to watch some incredible flying displays, explore the many exhibits, and learn more about the aviation industry and the Royal Air Force. It was a wonderful experience for all involved.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance for 1908 (Bootle) Cadets to socialise with Cadets from other squadrons across the Wing. Events like these provide a great opportunity to strengthen friendships, share experiences, and celebrate being part of the wider RAF Air Cadets family.

It was also a pleasure to meet and catch up with members of Wing and Regional staff throughout the day. Their continued support and engagement with our cadets is always greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit such an enjoyable and memorable experience. We look forward to attending again in the future!

🚶‍♂️🏅 20km Complete – First Road Marching Milestone Achieved! 🏅🚶‍♀️

On Saturday, 9 cadets from 1908 (Bootle) Squadron and 7F Squadron RAFAC took on their first 20km Road Marching training event, led by CI Hanson, as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Bronze Road Marching qualification.

Starting from Aintree, the team marched all the way to St Helens and back, demonstrating outstanding determination, resilience and teamwork every step of the way. 💪

Road marching is no easy challenge, and every cadet should be incredibly proud of what they achieved. This was a fantastic milestone on their journey towards earning their Bronze badges and a testament to the hard work they have put into their training so far.

A huge thank you to the staff from both 1908 (Bootle) Squadron and 7F Squadron who volunteered their time and support to make the day a success. Events like this simply couldn’t happen without your dedication.

Congratulations to all involved—we can’t wait to see what the team achieves next. Bring on the Bronze badges! 🌟

SATEx 2026 FLIGHT SIMULATOR

At our annual squadron adventure training camp, cadets took part in many activities, one of which being FLIGHT SIM!

Cadets were able to make use of the flight simulators whilst on camp, some of which had hyper realistic controls, where you and the seat would move as you moved your aircraft!

The cadets were able to fly over their homes, familiar landmarks, try aerobatics and compete in times competitions!

SATEx 2026 LOWROPES

At our annual squadron adventure training camp, cadets took part in many activities, one of which being LOWROPES!

The cadets were split into teams, and had to work together to get from one side of the course to another, racing each others timings. The groups were also assessed on their teamwork, communication and leadership!

This was a great team building exercise and it was brilliant to see some of the cadets grow in confidence as they came out of their comfort zone!

At our annual squadron adventure training camp, cadets took part in many activities, one of which being ROCKCLIMBING!

It was amazing to see cadets work together and encourage one another as they confidently climbed up the rock wall! We saw amazing examples of teamwork, as the cadets had to communicate to one another as they climbed or belayed!

A MASSIVE well done to Cpl Baxendale and Cdt Cash who have now passed their cadet method of instruction course and assessments!

On this course, the pair were taught how to properly teach and instruct cadets, and after 3 brilliantly successful observed lessons, they have been awarded their yellow lanyard!
