The Queensway Tunnel Monument has returned to Liverpool, taking pride of place once again at Old Haymarket.

This newly enhanced space in the heart of the city brings history and modern design together, creating a welcoming area for residents and visitors alike.

The project brings together past and present, with:

🔹 Restored Art Deco toll booths
🔹 A reinstated Venetian glass mosaic
🔹 A new bronze tactile map
🔹 Improved landscaping and seating

Originally opened in 1934, the Queensway Tunnel is one of the defining engineering achievements of the city region - and this monument once stood as a symbol of that ambition. Its return celebrates our proud heritage while supporting the city’s future.
