Weekend Cleaner/Caretaker Vacancy
London Colney Parish Council is looking for a reliable and practical Weekend Cleaner/Caretaker to help keep our facilities clean, safe and welcoming for the community.
The role will include general cleaning duties, opening/closing checks, reporting maintenance issues, and helping ensure the building is ready for weekend users and hirers.
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable and punctual
Able to work independently
Practical and willing to help with general caretaking tasks
Friendly and professional when dealing with the public
Location: London Colney Parish Council facilities
Hours: 12 hours over Saturday and Sunday
Pay: £13.26 per hour
Start date: 4th July

Due to the extreme RED weather warning on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June the SPLASH PARK will be CLOSED on these days. It is advised that people DO NOT go out in the heat on these days. Also the synthetic surface will be too hot for people to walk on. PLEASE PASS THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS.

Red Heat Health Alert – South East England

A Red Heat Health Alert will be in place from 1:00am on Wednesday 24 June 2026 until 11:00pm on Thursday 25 June 2026 across the South East.

This means severe impacts are expected due to high temperatures, including increased risk to life across the whole population, significant impacts on older people and vulnerable residents, and increased pressure on health and social care services.

Please take extra care during this period:

• Keep cool and avoid the hottest part of the day where possible
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Check in on older neighbours, relatives and anyone who may be vulnerable
• Keep indoor spaces as cool as possible
• Take care around open water, as cold-water shock and drowning risks may increase
