With forecasted exceptionally hot weather we’re changing our opening times tomorrow (Wednesday) for the welfare of staff, volunteers and visitors:
House open until Noon
Brewhouse open until 5pm
Estate will close at 6pm

Today is the 250th anniversary of John Constable's birth. He and his wife lived nearby in Hampstead from 1819 whilst his wife was unwell with tuberculosis. Constable painted many scenes on an around the Heath including this one of Branch Hill Pond which we have on display in Lord Mansfield's Dressing Room
