WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY, KWARA FIRST LADY LEADS WALK LAUNCH CHARITY PHARMACY
In commemoration of the 2026 World Sickle Cell Day, the First Lady of Kwara State, Founder Ajike People Support Center and Chairperson Nigeria Governors Spouses Forum Her Excellency Ambassador Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq has on Saturday 20th June 2026 led a sickle cell awareness and sensitization walk and also launched Charity Pharmacy in ilorin the Kwara State Capital.
While speaking at the event, the First Lady of Kwara State who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Heath Dr. Amina El-Imam commended the government for efforts on sickle cell treatment.
She also used the occasion of the event to highlight the activities of her office and the Ajike People Support Center in the care and support of people living with sickle cell disease.
The First Lady however proceeded to launch the charity pharmacy situated in the office of Pearl Sickle Cell Initiative, for the benefit of warriors who genuinely can not afford their medications
In her remarks, the chief executive officer of Pearl sickle cell initiative thanked the First Lady for the collaboration and drummed for more support for people living with sickle cell disease.
