Dudley Borough Bin Collection Update
A release of hydrated lime at the Lister Road Energy from Waste facility has disrupted bin collections across parts of Dudley borough.
Several staff members required medical attention after exposure, although the site has now been declared safe and operations have resumed following a clean-up operation and checks involving the Environment Agency.
If your black bin, green bin or food waste collection has been missed, please leave it out. Crews will be working over the weekend to catch up.
Just when residents thought the bin situation was finally improving after months of disruption, a cloud of hydrated lime decides to enter the chat.
You really couldn't make it up.
We'll keep residents updated as more information becomes available.

2026 Elected Cllr for Wollaston & Stourbridge Town
Former Parliamentary Candidate.

Good evening,
Over the weekend I wrote to Dudley borough Highways group about the serious speeding issues around Wollaston and Stourbridge Town, particularly regarding:
▪︎ Undertaking a feasibility study into the installation of a fixed speed enforcement camera (Gatso) on the Crystal Leisure Centre side of the Stourbridge Ring Road.
▪︎ Review existing speed survey data for the Ring Road, Enville Street, High Park Avenue and Bridgnorth Road and advise whether further monitoring is planned.
▪︎ Investigating the suitability of additional LED vehicle-activated speed awareness signs at key locations throughout Wollaston, particularly on Bridgnorth Road and other known speeding hotspots.
▪︎ Providing any available collision, injury and fatality data for these locations over the last five years, together with any existing road safety assessments.
I am pleased to say that my email was supported by Cllrs Kam Macleod and Andrew Tromans.
I will keep local people updated with correspondence.
Dudley borough proves something the political class never seem to understand.
Despite some of the highest tax burdens in modern British history, our unemployment rate remains lower than the wider West Midlands average.
That's not because of Westminster, it's despite it.
It's because Stourbridge, Dudley and Halesowen people still believe in work.
We are a borough built by miners, foundry workers, engineers, tradesmen, shopkeepers and small business owners. We also have a large contingent of military veterans.
Proper graft Britain.
That culture of graft hasn't disappeared, despite decades of politicians making it harder to get ahead.
Now imagine what we can do when the shackles of the state are removed.

82 years ago, ordinary men did extraordinary things.
They stormed the beaches of Normandy and helped liberate a continent from tyranny.
Freedom is never free.
Lest we forget.

Sinkhole on Clark Street, Stourbridge Old Quarter. Thank you to a resident for making me aware this morning that a sinkhole has appeared. I have raised this with the out of hours emergency team and Highways will be attending this afternoon.

Clifton Street, temporary repair looks like it will come loose soon, why this has been carried out but not the other ones, I don't know. Common sense answer is to do them all together and do them properly. I've reported them along with the drain that is jutting out. Ref: Cllr-842375509

One for green care, Greenfield Gardens. Overgrowth creating hiding spaces for crooks and ne'erdowells, risk to women and children if walking in the dark, plus it's untidy and minimises path use for pushchairs. Ref: Cllr-842374395
