Ahead of 2026 this Friday, we're celebrating and recognising the positive impact of employment support in helping people move closer to, into, and sustain meaningful work.

This year’s theme, 'We Get Britain Working', aligns with the national focus on increasing employment rates and reducing economic inactivity through coordinated, system-wide support.

We’re highlighting those with mental health challenges that we’ve worked alongside to help find fulfilling work.

From building confidence and resilience to staying hopeful through setbacks, Ravi, Keira and Charlotte's stories show how the right support can help people move towards fulfilling work and improved wellbeing.

“Christian” (name changed)’s life was torn apart when he became a victim of .

Criminals groomed and exploited him. They took over his home to store drugs and weapons. They controlled him financially and left him living in fear.

Christian’s story reflects a stark reality. Modern slavery is not something distant or rare. It often happens in plain sight, on our doorsteps, with people like Christian who are isolated and vulnerable.

With support from Hestia, Christian is now rebuilding his life but the trauma of his experience still affects him every day.

More than 130,000 people are living in modern slavery across the UK today.

Without urgent action, exploiters will continue to operate in what has been described as a ‘low risk, high reward’ environment.

That’s why leaders from across the anti-slavery sector gathered at the House of Commons this week to mark the launch of ‘Decade of dignity’ – a strategic vision for ending exploitation and human trafficking in the UK.

The report sets out a bold and ambitious vision for how the UK can transform its response to modern slavery over the next decade, placing survivors at the heart of policy and practice while strengthening prevention, protection and prosecution efforts.

We are proud to have worked alongside fellow anti-slavery organisations to develop this shared vision for the future.

Hosted by Carolyn Harris MP, the launch event brought together parliamentarians, civil servants, businesses, academics and leaders from across the anti-slavery sector, including people with lived experience. The speakers included Minister for Border Security and Asylum, Alex Norris MP; the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Eleanor Lyons; and Tom Collins MP, Officer of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery.

Decade of dignity is an important contribution to the national conversation – and a call for long-term, systemic change. We look forward to working with partners across the sector to turn this vision into reality.

Together, we can build a future where every person is free from exploitation and able to live with dignity.
