It's hot! 🌡️ 🔆
During the warmer weather, please remember to:
💧 Be prepared for hot weather with sun cream, a hat and water
🔆 Try to keep sun exposure to a minimum, particularly between 11am and 3pm
😓 Look out for signs of feeling unwell and move to a cool place as soon as possible, slow down and drink water if you feel unwell. If you need medical help, call NHS 111 or 999 in an emergency.
🧑🏻🦳 Check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours

Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark the 78th anniversary of Windrush Day 🧡🚢
On Monday, we came together at Strutton Ground, St James’s, to honour the lasting contributions of the Windrush Generation.
We heard from a wonderful line-up of speakers, including Councillor Robert Rigby, Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Civic Pride; Carol Curtis, a member of the Windrush Generation; and Valerie Lewis from the Dutch Pot Lunch and Social Club.
The programme also featured a powerful historical presentation by author and historian Claud Steven, reflecting on the legacy and impact of Windrush in Britain.
From meaningful conversations to a vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, the day offered an opportunity to reflect on the resilience, heritage and influence of those who helped shape modern Britain.
The stories of the continue to inspire us — not just on Windrush Day, but all year round.

Ahead of Armed Forces Day this Saturday, we are flying the Armed Forces flag all week outside city hall, recognising and showing our support for the Armed Forces community - from serving personnel to service families, veterans, and cadets.
As a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, the council remains committed to ensuring those who serve, or have served, are treated with fairness and respect in our community ❤️
