We’ve already secured over £1.95 million in refunds for customers, since gaining our new consumer powers last year.

So far, we’ve ordered 3 companies to refund customers after we found their online pricing practices broke the law:

➡️ AA including BSM
➡️ Marks Electrical
➡️ StubHub UK

We’re continuing to crack down on illegal pricing practices, so you know exactly what you’re paying when shopping online.

Did you buy a washing machine, dishwasher, or other large appliance from Marks Electrical between April and November 2025?

If you did – and paid for unwrapping or the recycling of your old appliance – then then you could get some money back. You don’t need to do anything, you’ll be repaid automatically.

We’ve ordered the company to refund nearly 40,000 customers after it automatically opted them into extra charges that they didn’t expressly agree to.

We’re investigating Ryanair over fees that parents must pay to sit with their children – including children with disabilities.

Those travelling with the budget airline must pay for a ‘mandatory family seat’ to make sure their child can sit with them, being charged typically around £8 per flight.

We’ll assess whether this practice could mean parents are being charged for Ryanair to meet its child safety and disability-related obligations – and whether this could be unfair under consumer law.

We’ve secured a court-endorsed settlement with Emma Sleep after it admitted to using illegal pressure selling tactics.

The High Court declared by agreement that the company’s use of certain countdown timers, ‘high demand’ messages, and ‘discount’ claims was illegal, confirming the CMA’s position.

Emma Sleep has agreed to binding changes, now enforceable by the Court.

UK businesses: help inform our SMS investigation into Microsoft’s business software ecosystem.

We’ve heard that UK customers may not always be able to effectively combine software from Microsoft with that of other providers, limiting their ability to get access to the best products at the most competitive prices.

As part of our ongoing investigation, we’re inviting businesses to share their experiences until 4 June 2026.
