⚠️ Rogue trader alert ⚠️

Our trading standards team has received reports of a rogue trader cold calling residents in the Broxtowe area, offering door and window alarms for sale. In one case, the individual claimed to be representing the council.

‼️ We wanted to make you aware that staff from Broxtowe Borough Council and Nottinghamshire County Council DO NOT visit homes selling goods or services.

Our advice is to never purchase items or services from cold callers. If you do not recognise the person at your door, do not answer your door, say 'no’ and if they refuse to leave, contact the police.

🚫 Deter unwanted doorstep traders by displaying a ‘no uninvited callers’ sign on your door or in your front window. You can download a free 'no uninvited callers' sign from our website (we’ve included a link in the first comment ⬇️)

☎️ If you are worried about unwanted callers, or need to report a rogue trader, you can do this by calling the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 223 1133.

Well done Harper and Chris!

Who remembers Harper, Calverton’s community superstar? ✨

Earlier this week one of Nottingham's team leaders, Chris, had the pleasure of meeting Harper and her mum to personally deliver a very special surprise!

Many of you will remember 6 year old Harper, who captured our hearts when she took it upon herself to help keep Calverton’s bus stops clean and tidy following acts of vandalism.

As a thank you for everything she's done to help keep our local bus stops looking their best for everyone, Chris presented Harper with a personalised bus stop sign from all of us at trentbarton.

Thank you again, Harper, for being such an amazing example of caring for your community 💚

Andy Burnham's personal ambition to become Prime Minister could cost taxpayers nearly £5 million.

The Makerfield by-election will cost nearly a quarter of a million pounds (228k) of tax payers money.

If he wins, Greater Manchester would then face a mayoral by-election costing another £4.7 million of tax payers moneyas he would have to resign as Greater Manchester Mayor to sit as an MP.

£5 million is enough to fund hundreds of nurses, tens of thousands of GP appointments, major road repairs, or vital support for vulnerable residents. Instead, as taxpayers we'd be left footing the bill for two elections triggered by Burnhams career ambition to be Prime Minister.

Britain is a two tier state - against white people. 14/06/2026

Great article by Nigel Farage which lays bare the idealogical capture of the institutions of the British state by DEI

A long read, but worth it

Britain is a two tier state - against white people. British people fundamentally expect a fair deal. But there is nothing fair about the way White people have been treated by their governments.

James McMurdock MP face says it all to the ridiculous Green Party's Hannah Spencer MP petty insult at todays PMQ's. She needs to grow up and act like a serious MP, instead of throwing cheap pathetic quips that she wants for her social media followers. If she thinks insulting a huge portion of the electorate is clever, she needs to think again!

Fab afternoon at Calverton Working Men's Club 60th birthday celebration! Nice to have a drink and a natter and see the fly past of the Dakota C-47 by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight! Brilliant and well done Stacey for organising it all.
