Friday afternoons are getting competitive with our ‘International Games Club’ launching at The Furzedown Project!

Starting from 26 June, we’ll be enjoying fun afternoons playing games from across the world such as Carrom — the classic tabletop game of Indian origin in which players flip or flick discs, attempting to knock them to the corners of the board, similar to billiards…
Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying it for the first time, come and have a go!

As our members are of so many different nationalities we hope to share other great games (Jamaican dominoes anyone?) - and of course we’ll also have your favourite classic board games to enjoy like Backgammon, Ludo and Cluedo - bringing people together for laughter, strategy, and great conversation!

Every Friday 1:30pm – 3:30pm, just £3 a session.
We always welcome new members and have lots of other great activities on offer. Come along, meet new people, and enjoy a relaxing social afternoon in a warm and welcoming space!

Please contact the Project if you’d like to join our special Carrom session - let us know if you’ve played before or want to try something new.

Thank you to everyone who voted for The Furzedown Project in the Balham Waitrose’s wonderful Green Token scheme.

Our Director Sandra was delighted to pick up the impressive cheque from the manager Anthony and his staff!

Fundraising initiatives like this are really important for small independent charities like ours so please pick up tokens to vote for local causes - we rely on donations, grants and memberships fees to keep going!

Wishing a very happy Easter to all our members, supporters and Furzedown friends!

These cute little characters featured in our sale last weekend, hand knitted by one of our wonderful supporters… and they helped us raise an amazing £1,403 towards our activities & outreach.

Best foot forward!
The Project’s Perambulators is our long established walking group who meet every month for walks of between 5 and 10 miles, within easy travelling distance from the Project.

There were 14 Project members on Tuesday, walking to Richmond Park and enjoying the amazing views across King Henry’s Mound.

The next Furzedown Perambulators walk is on Tuesday 28th April. We are walking along the River Wandle from Colliers Wood to it’s mouth where it joins the Thames at Wandsworth. It’s a level walk of about 5 miles on solid paths with an easy bus journey back to Tooting.

Fancy joining us? We welcome new members any time, please contact the Project reception or email Philip [email protected]

We also have shorter, relaxed walks locally with the Furzedown Strollers led by Robert [email protected]
