99 years ago, the Cheltenham Agreement created the Labour and Co-operative electoral pact, and together we've fought for an society where wealth and power are shared ever since.
Every Labour and Co-operative representative and campaigner today is part of that story.
For years, banks have disappeared from Britain's communities. Nearly 7,000 branches gone since 2015. 380,000 businesses that want finance can't get it.
Today MPs back what we have been arguing for: a Community Reinvestment Act, so banks have to serve the places they profit from.
We need a new economy, one rooted in co-operation, not polarisation.
