🌿 Nature’s Reclamation Along the River Lea
An exhibition by artist Jaiminee Patel
📅 21st June – 13th September

Walthamstow Wetlands and the Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum are linked by London’s Victorian industrial revolution - once dominated by towering chimneys that managed the city’s water supply. Today, the labyrinth of water and steam engineering through the valley inspires Jaiminee Patel’s art, which show how the brick and iron of these industrial sites have yielded to the patina of nature, connecting art, history and ecology through her surreal landscapes and still life painting.

Explore **Nature’s Reclamation Along the River Lea**, a free exhibition at Walthamstow Wetlands, open daily from **Sunday 21 June to Sunday 13 September**.

🕤 Opening times: 9.30am–4pm
📍 Venue: Walthamstow Wetlands Engine House
🎟️ Free entry — no booking required

We’re open as usual at Walthamstow Wetlands, but with the hot weather continuing, please plan your visit with care.

There is limited shade across the reserve and some long, treeless stretches of path, so please bring water, stay hydrated, and take breaks where you can.

Drinking water and cold drinks are available from the café.

Thank you for helping us keep visits safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Step into summer with London Wildlife Trust 🌿☀️

It’s time to head outdoors, connect with nature and discover something new at one of our summer events.

Join Sixto-Juan Zavala, founder of Q***r Botany, for a guided walk exploring the links between queerness and the natural world. Through folklore, science and history, we’ll uncover stories about plants and the many ways nature challenges boundaries.🐝

You can also get hands-on with citizen science. Learn how to set up Malaise traps, support sample collection and help visitors discover more about insects and their conservation.

Happy 100th birthday to Sir David Attenborough! 🎉

We’d like to thank Sir David for over four decades of support for London Wildlife Trust — his wisdom, warmth and unwavering commitment has strengthened our mission at every step.

From championing our work behind the scenes to opening the iconic Woodberry Wetlands in 2016, he has helped Londoners reconnect with nature. Sir David’s extraordinary ability to tell nature’s story and inspire wonder has encouraged generations of people to care for and take action for wildlife.

Earlier this year, in the remarkable BBC documentary Wild London, Sir David celebrated the beauty and surprise of wildlife across our capital city, reminding us that nature belongs everywhere.
